#ATLBurgerWeek: Bantam Pub + Friday
We're hitting day three of #ATLBurgerWeek and I'm not going to lie - I'm not sure deciding to eat a burger every day was one of my better plans. So, today, we took a little break from the beef and decided to try The Grilled Lamb Burger at Bantam Pub. Coincidentally this is the same place Ben took Dottie and I for brunch. Go figure.
But before we get into that - I don't think folks understand how serious we took this week; bad idea and all. There were some conflicting schedules on when people needed to be back in the office, so instead of canceling - we obviously just staggered our lunches and carpooled with schedules more similar to our own.
11:30am rolls around and round II heads out. We get there and sit outside because it's crazy beautiful (and because round I got to pick seats). They let us know ahead of time it was pretty delicious but rather small. But, the marmalade was delicious.
Oh, wait, let me backup really quick The Grilled Lamb Burger included: feta cheese, tomato-chili marmalade on the side & fried onions. Now, it was pretty small. And that irritated me a little bit - why wouldn't you feature what's on the menu? And there were so many fried onions for that itty bitty burger. Blargh. Despite all of that - it was delicious! Not my favorite (George's still takes the cake) but very good. I could be a wee bit biased; I love lamb. The marmalade, though... I was afraid to taste it at first - I'm weird about sauces. Glad I did! So good and well complemented. It was a hint of sweet but mostly savory. And the description gave me Mexican-food vibe which I thought would be weird on this burger; thankfully it wasn't Mexican-food vibe. Just so good.
Update! I felt awful Friday. So, I could not bring myself to eat another burger. My body hated me. Instead, I ordered a salad. With steak, obviously. We'll see what Saturday brings.
